Why Are Innocent People Being Killed?
You hear the question being asked continually during the war in Israel and Gaza today. The outcry is,” Why are innocent people being killed in Gaza?”
The answer is a very sad one. Civilians are being killed in Gaza every day. Hamas is using their citizens as living shields to protect their soldiers from the attacks of the Israelis and then make claims of slaughter against Israel. What kind of enemy would use civilians to protect their soldiers? It would be one that has no concern for its people and no problem stationing its troops in the middle of its civilian population. Hamas have positioned their strongholds in tunnels below public areas in the hope that this will protect them from attack. They hide rockets in community areas. They then use these rockets to attack Israel and attempt to conceal themselves safely. In all this, Hamas knows that they are causing the death of their citizens. Israel is attacking the military, not the civilians. Citizens of Gaza have been precisely placed in the line of fire so it will guarantee death and destruction.
Hamas has dedicated itself to the defeat of Israel and the killing of all Jews. Israel is responding to this threat and protecting their people.
But why is the outcry not also, “Why are innocent people being killed in Israel?” On October 7, 2023, Hamas directly attacked, tortured, and killed over one thousand civilians in Israel at public events in towns and individual houses. They were not looking for enemy troops but specifically citizens. They also captured over one hundred people from various countries around the world and continue to hold them. Hamas did not attack the military but specifically attacked civilians.
Why is the outcry only for the people in Gaza?
