Who are Abraham’s Spiritual Offspring?

Paul tells us in Romans 9:7 that Abraham’s spiritual descendants are not from his son Ishmael but only through his son Issac. From the beginning, God chose his people. Choosing that the line would come from Abraham through Isaac was God’s choice.

This choice continues today.  Yeshua’s sacrifice on the cross provided the way for us as Gentiles to become the spiritual offspring of Abraham and thus included in His family.  He has chosen us, not because of a religion called “Christianity” or our good works, but because we are Abraham’s spiritual offspring.  By our confession of trust in Yeshua’s work, we are the “wild olive branches” Paul talks about in Romans 11. We have been grafted into the tree supported with Jewish roots.  Our roots are now through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Our origins began Jewish and stay Jewish. They have not changed. Gentiles trusting in Yeshua’s completed work are now included as God’s spiritual offspring.
