As believers in Yeshua, are we to celebrate the Feast and Festivals of Leviticus 23? This year, it starts on April 10. Let’s look to the Apostle Paul for his words to the Corinthians.
Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians talks about the Messiah being our Passover lamb sacrificed for us. Let’s ask Paul what he thinks. His answer is contained in 1 Corinthians 5:8:
“Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”
Even after stating that the Messiah was our sacrificial lamb who was already slain, Paul says that we are to continue celebrating the feast, not from the viewpoint of making a sacrifice, but of honoring the saving work completed on the cross.
It may be too late to find a Passover Seder to attend this year, but use this opportunity to read the account of our Lord’s last Passover when he met with the disciples and had the Last Supper.
As the traditional seder ends, let us say:
