Bless Israel
I have been asked by a few of you, “How can I bless Israel?” That is a very good question and I would like to cover that in the next few entries.
Referenced on the home page of our website, www.blessisrael.net we find the quote from Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, but I will curse anyone who curses you; and by you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” I see this verse not so much as a command, but as a promise. We should not be blessing to get blessed, but be blessing because it is the right thing to do.
Blessing Israel is the right thing to do. Paul said in Romans 3, “. . . In the first place, the Jews were entrusted with the very words of God.” If it were not for the children of Abraham, we would not even have the word of G-d. Their faithfulness in protecting the word with their lives can only be measured by the fact that I have the scriptures to read. We have such a debt to our Jewish brothers. They are G-d’s chosen people. I realize that there are churches today that say that the promise of being the chosen people has be removed from the Jews and transferred to the church. Their being the chosen people has not been removed. The question I want to ask you is: If the Jews cannot believe God in the promises he made to them, why should we believe that God will keep his promises to us? God’ promises to them are as certain as God’s promises to us. God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. We can either trust him in everything he says, or we can’t trust him in anything he says. Your choice. I choose to believe him in all he says. (I don’t always act like I believe him in all he says.)
With that in mind, I see four areas that we can be blessing Israel:
Spiritually
Physically
Politically
Socially
Check back and we will talk about the 4 areas in more detail.
I ask you to consider my question: If the Jews cannot believe God in the promises he made to them, why should we believe that God will keep his promises to us?
Do you believe all God’s promises?
